The subcomponent here can account for variants such as: The Burgundy was chosen by my brother The Burgundy was chosen The choosing of the Burgundy (by my brother) My brother’s choosing of the Burgundy Transformational Grammar (TG) is not an arrangement of examples or hints, but a theory of language, just as chemistry is a theory of other kinds of objects in the physical world.
